A Feminist Dialogue Across Generations

Gallery SENSEI
278 Grand Street, 2nd Fl.
New York, NY 10002 (between Eldridge & Forsyth St.)

Words, Gender & Art

How is language used by different generations in ways that could insult or perhaps elevate women and women's art? How does the language of the time affect our art making? For example: Judy Chicago's use of the word "cunt" or the recent Whitney Biennial protest "The Clitney Perennial" organized by Go! Pushpops, Anne Sherwood Pundyk and others.

(RE)Present 2014: What do we want from Feminism and how can we achieve it? Continuing in the tradition of the New York Feminist Art Institute, NYFAI (1979-1990), https://nyfai.org .
An event of The Feminist Art Project.
